Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup club soda
  • 2 tbsps. Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 3 cups finely shredded cabbage
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • Sour cream
  • Fresh parsley

Directions

  • Step 1

    COMBINE eggs, flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt in medium bowl. Stir until smooth. Blend in milk and club soda.

  • Step 2

    MELT shortening over medium heat in large skillet. Add cabbage. Sprinkle with sugar, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until tender. Cool slightly. Stir into batter.

  • Step 3

    COAT a 6-inch skillet lightly with no-stick cooking spray. Heat skillet over medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup batter in center of skillet. Cook about 1 minute, turn, cook until light brown. Serve immediately or keep warm in 175ºF. oven. Repeat with remaining batter. Garnish with sour cream and fresh parsley sprigs, if desired.
