- Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
- 6 medium (about 2 lbs.) sweet potatoes
Directions
- Step 1
HEAT shortening to 360ºF in a deep saucepan or deep fryer.
- Step 2
WASH and pare potatoes. Cut lengthwise into strips about 1/2 x 1/2 inch or 1/4 x 1/4 inch. Pat dry with paper towels.
- Step 3
FRY a few at a time until crisp and golden, about 3 minutes for the 1/2-inch strips and about 1 1/2 minutes for the 1/4-inch strips.
- Step 4
DRAIN on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt. Serve immediately.
