Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) bag frozen whole kernel corn
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsps. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. ground white pepper
  • Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil

Directions

  • Step 1

    COMBINE corn, flour, sour cream, eggs, oil, onion, baking powder, sugar, salt, nutmeg and pepper in medium bowl. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.

  • Step 2

    HEAT 2 to 3-inches oil in deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350ºF. Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls into hot vegetable oil. Fry a few at a time 5 to 6 minutes, or until deep golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve immediately or keep warm in 175ºF. oven.
