Ingredients

  • 2 tbsps. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 2 lbs. beef stew meat
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes with green chiles
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can seasoned tomatoes for chili
  • 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chiles
  • 2 tsps. ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • Hot cooked rice

Directions

  • Step 2

    HEAT oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown meat on all sides. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir until onion is tender.

  • Step 3

    STIR in diced tomatoes, seasoned tomatoes, green chiles, cumin, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling. Cover. Simmer, stirring occasionally, about 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Stir in cilantro. Serve over rice.

  • Step 5

    COAT slow cooker with Crisco® No-Stick Cooking Spray.

  • Step 6

    HEAT oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown meat on all sides. Place in slow cooker. Stir in onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, seasoned tomatoes, green chiles, cumin, salt and pepper.

  • Step 7

    COVER and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH 4 to 5 hours. Stir in cilantro. Serve over rice.
