Ingredients

  • 2 tbsps. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped green or red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tbsps. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk or half and half
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables in cheese sauce, thawed
  • 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen cut green beans, thawed
  • Salt and pepper

Directions

  • Step 1

    HEAT oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add bell pepper and onion. Cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes or until crisp-tender. Remove from heat.

  • Step 2

    STIR in flour, dry mustard, garlic powder and cayenne; cook and stir 2 minutes. Gradually stir in broth and milk. Return to heat.

  • Step 3

    COOK and stir until mixture thickens. Stir in thawed mixed vegetables and green beans.

  • Step 4

    SIMMER 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Season with salt and pepper; serve.
