Ingredients

  • 2 tbsps. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 2 tbsps. finely chopped onion
  • 2 tbsps. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups very finely chopped or ground cooked turkey
  • 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • Cheese sauce or hollandaise sauce

Directions

  • Step 1

    HEAT oil over medium-high heat in skillet. Add onion and cook over medium heat for 2 minutes or until tender. Stir in flour. Gradually add chicken broth, stirring until sauce is thick and smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in egg, turkey, parsley, salt and pepper. Spread on a plate. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

  • Step 2

    HEAT oil to 365ºF in a deep fryer or deep saucepan. Shape turkey mixture into 6 balls. Roll in beaten egg, then in bread crumbs. Fry 5 to 6 minutes in hot oil. Drain on paper towels. Serve with cheese sauce.
