Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 cup lemon juice
  • f1 tbsps. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. salt

Directions

  • Step 1

    HEAT oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add celery, peppers and onion; sauté until soft, about 5 minutes. Add ketchup and brown sugar. Reduce heat to low; stir until brown sugar dissolves. Add spices.

  • Step 2

    COOK 1 hour over very low heat, stirring occasionally.
