Ingredients

  • 3 tbsps. Crisco® Pure Canola Oil
  • 3 small red onions
  • 6 Italian fresh pork sausages
  • 2 tbsps. chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 small dried hot chile peppers
  • 3 (14 oz.) cans diced plum tomatoes
  • 1 lb. pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  • Step 1

    HEAT oil over medium-high heat in a large saucepan. Add onions. Cook and stir until light brown. Stir in crumbled sausage, rosemary, bay leaf and chile peppers. Cook 20 minutes or until sausage is brown and crumbly. Stir in tomatoes. Return to a boil. Remove from heat.

  • Step 2

    COOK pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water 9 to 10 minutes, or until al dente, tender but firm. Drain thoroughly.

  • Step 3

    STIR cream into sauce. Add drained pasta and half the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with remaining Parmesan cheese.
