Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 lb. ground round beef
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • Dash of hot pepper sauce
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans

Directions

  • Step 1

    HEAT oil in large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and green pepper. Cook and stir until tender. Add meat. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 2

    STIR in tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt and black pepper; add hot pepper sauce, if desired. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 3

    ADD beans. Heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally.
