Ingredients

  • Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsps. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. finely grated orange zest
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

  • Step 1

    HEAT oven to 350ºF. Coat baking sheets with no-stick cooking spray.

  • Step 2

    BEAT brown sugar and shortening in large bowl with mixer on high speed 5 minutes. Beat in egg, milk, vanilla and orange peel, if desired.

  • Step 3

    STIR flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl until blended. Beat into creamed mixture until dough forms.

  • Step 4

    SCOOP dough by level tablespoon; drop 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.

  • Step 5

    BAKE 9 to 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cool 1 minute. Remove cookies to wire rack to cool completely.
