Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium raw potato
  • 1 1/2 lbs. raw shrimp
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. curry powder
  • Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening

Directions

  • Step 1

    COMBINE onion, potato, and shrimp in large bowl.

  • Step 2

    STIR in flour, egg, salt, pepper, and if desired, curry powder.

  • Step 3

    HEAT shortening to 365ºF in deep saucepan or deep fryer.

  • Step 4

    DROP batter by rounded measuring teaspoonfuls. Fry 6 at a time 3 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Step 5

    DRAIN on paper towels. Serve hot with cocktail sauce.
