Grilled Garlic Bread with Fresh Tomatoes and Parmesan

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsps. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp. minced fresh garlic
  • 1 French baguette (about 24-inch)
  • 1 lb. thinly sliced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsps. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh basil

Directions

  • Step 1

    HEAT grill to medium high heat. Combine 4 tablespoons oil and garlic. Brush liberally on cut sides of bread. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Step 2

    GRILL bread, cut side down, 1 to 2 minutes until moderately charred. Turn.

  • Step 3

    ARRANGE tomatoes on bread. Grill, covered, 1 to 2 minutes until tomatoes are softened. Top with cheese, balsamic vinegar, remaining 2 tablespoons oil and basil, if desired.
