Ingredients

  • 3 medium plum tomatoes, quartered
  • 1/3 cup coarsely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 canned chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tbsps. Crisco® Pure Canola Oil
  • 2 tbsps. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp. minced fresh garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

  • Step 1

    PLACE tomatoes in food processor. Cover and pulse until coarsely chopped. Drain, if desired, discarding excess liquid.

  • Step 2

    PLACE, onion, cilantro, chipotle pepper. oil, lime juice, garlic and salt in food processor. Cover and pulse until chopped. Stir in chopped tomatoes. Serve with grilled meats, grilled seafood or snack chips.

  • Step 3

    Canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce can be found in the Hispanic foods section of most supermarkets.
