Peanut Butter Blossoms

Yield:4 Dozen Cookies


  • 1/2 cup Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1/2 cup Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups Pillsbury BEST™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Sugar
  • 48 foil-wrapped milk chocolate pieces, unwrapped


  1. 1.
    HEAT oven to 375°F.

    CREAM together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat well.

    STIR together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Beat on low speed until stiff dough forms.

    SHAPE into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    BAKE 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

    TOP each cookie immediately with an unwrapped chocolate piece, pressing down firmly so that cookie cracks around edge. Remove from cookie sheets to cool.

Been a favorite since I was a kid My Grandmother used to make these for me whenever I came over. I'm not living 1,000 miles away and every time I feel homesick I put these easy to bake cookies together and feel better. By far my favorite recipe for years. July 4, 2013

Yum! I love chocolate and peanut butter and these are very tasty. Easy to prepare. It makes 4 dozen, but I only had 2 dozen, so I realized my balls were too big and split them in half. Glad I did this since they were the perfect size when I removed them from the oven, even though they looked small before baking. Also watch baking time. I always turn my cookies half way through. First batch wad closer the 12 minutes which was just a bit too long.. Second batch was 10 minutes and they were perfect. December 17, 2011
Not so good I followed the recipe found on the can of Butter Crisco but my results were mixed. My cookies cracked before finishing maybe that was me. They split when I pushed the kiss in. Not much peanut butter taste. The kisses were the best part. December 15, 2011
