Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese

INGREDIENTS:

  • Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1 (12 fl.oz.) canPET® Evaporated Milk
  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (16 oz.) box uncooked macaroni (4 cups)
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided

PREPARATION DIRECTIONS:

  1. 1.
    COAT slow cooker with no-stick cooking spray. Combine evaporated milk, water, melted butter, dry mustard, salt and pepper in slow cooker. Stir in macaroni, Monterey Jack cheese and 1 cup cheddar cheese.

    COVER and cook on LOW for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until macaroni is tender. Stir gently. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup cheddar cheese on top before serving.

Better than the blue box. We all liked the flavor. But half of us prefer our pasta al dente, and our mac and cheese crusty. The half of my taste-testers who like the mushy, runny mix out of a box were thrilled, though. February 7, 2013

It's ok Had good taste, very easy to prepare. Family ate it, so it wasn't all that bad. But It turned out mushy. My family likes a very crispy mac&cheese, they fight over the edges. If I make this in the crock pot again I will use less water. Other wise will boil the maccaroni then mix everything else together and bake in the oven. Will write another review when i bake it in the oven. March 1, 2012
