Bacon and Bleu Cheese Salad with Garlic Croutons



Ingredients:

DRESSING
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan (about 2 ounces)
1/2 cup Crisco® Vegetable Oil, plus 2 tablespoons
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

FOR THE GARLIC CROUTONS
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup Crisco® Vegetable Oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 French bread slices, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
1 large romaine lettuce head, chopped
6 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese

Preparation Directions:

Combine all ingredients in blender or food processor; blend until smooth. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

FOR THE GARLIC CROUTONS

1. Heat oven to 400°F. Melt 2 tablespoons butter with all-vegetable oil and garlic in small saucepan.

2. Place bread cubes on baking sheet.

3. Pour mixture over bread and toss well.

4. Bake until bread cubes are golden brown and crisp, about 10 minutes.

5. Season with salt and pepper. Cool completely.

TO ASSEMBLE

Place chopped lettuce, bacon and blue cheese in a large bowl; add dressing to taste and toss well. Garnish with croutons; serve.
