Asian Grilled Steaks with Spicy Herb Sauce
INGREDIENTS:
- MARINADE
- 1/3 cup Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 strip steaks, 1 inch thick, 3/4 pound each
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- SPICY HERB SAUCE
- 1 cup cilantro, minced
- 1/4 cup Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon minced jalapeno pepper
PREPARATION DIRECTIONS:
1. STIR together oil, sugar, garlic, sesame oil, pepper flakes and salt in a one gallon resealable plastic bag. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
2. ADD steaks, turning to coat. Marinate in refrigerator 1 hour, turning occasionally.
3. HEAT grill. Stir together cilantro, oil, lime juice, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil and jalapeño in small bowl.
4. REMOVE steaks from marinade; season with salt and pepper. Discard marinade.
5. COOK steaks on medium-hot grill 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium rare or to desired doneness.
6. TOP each steak with sauce. Serve with remaining sauce on the side.
