Whole Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

INGREDIENTS:

  • Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 3/4 cup Martha White® All-Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 cup Pillsbury BEST® Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil

PREPARATION DIRECTIONS:

  1. 1.
    HEAT griddle or large skillet to medium heat (350°F). Spray lightly with no-stick cooking spray.*

    COMBINE all ingredients in large bowl; stir just until large lumps disappear (batter will be slightly lumpy.)

  3. 3.
    POUR about 1/4 cup batter for each pancake onto hot griddle. Cook 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until bubbles begin to break on surface. Turn; cook 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until golden brown.

  4. TIP
    *Griddle is ready when small drops of water sizzle and disappear almost immediately. Pancakes will stick if griddle is too cool.
