Brown Sugar Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
    •
  • 1/2 cup butter
    •
  • 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
    •
  • 1 large egg
    •
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    •
  • 2 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
    •
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    •
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    •

PREPARATION DIRECTIONS:

  1. 1.
    HEAT oven to 350ºF.

  2. 2.
    BEAT together shortening, butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla in medium bowl until light and fluffy. Mix in flour, baking soda and salt.

  3. 3.
    SHAPE dough into 1-inch balls or use small cookie scoop. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

  4. 4.
    BAKE 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to cooling rack after 1 minute.

Perfect Everyday Cookie! Very tasty cookie with milk, coffee or tea. Nothing tricky about the ingredients so everyone should have them in their pantry. The dough is easy to handle especially with a one inch cookie scoop. I did use the butter flavor Crisco and it was very good. February 16, 2013

Brown sugar cookies These cookies are delicious my family loved them, a very nice change from regular sugar cookies made with (white sugar) another great thing is I had everything at home in my cabinets already. Very delish!!!!! Be careful not to overbake them I baked them for only 8 minutes watch them caefully till you know how long to bake them in your oven. November 29, 2011
